2020 Maddens Rise Chardonnay

Estate grown, hand-picked and hand-made.

The grapes (a blend of 63.6% Bernard 76 and 95 and 36.4% Gin Gin Chardonnay clones) were hand-picked and hand selected over a sorting table prior to whole bunch pressing. This wine was fermented using wild yeasts and aged on lees for about 9 months. Malolactic fermentation was encouraged on a portion of the wine to enhance richness and texture. Maturation was in new and seasoned French oak.

A beautifully balanced wine with apple crumble and almond meal on the nose. Nectarine, fresh pineapple, pears and oatmeal are evident on the palate. This wine has a lovely mouth feel and is beautifully balanced with lovely length of flavour.
