2020 Maddens Rise Pinot Noir

Estate grown, hand-picked and hand-made.

This SINGLE VINEYARD wine was made with 100% MV6 Pinot Noir grapes hand-picked over two days before sorting, destemming and tipping of whole berries into one open top fermenter. The fruit was ambient soaked prior to initiation of wild fermentation, with plunging undertaken to achieve gentle extraction, integration and layering of tannins. After time on skins, the wine was pressed, settled and racked to barrel (in new and seasoned French oak) for 100% malolactic fermentation.

This wine has a nose of raspberry, cedar and vanilla. It is juicy and mouth-filling, with flavours of strawberry, rhubarb and cherry. There is a wonderful balance of weight and length with delightful tannins.
