2013 Maddens Rise Nebbiolo (Museum Release)
Estate grown, hand-picked and hand-made.
Produced from a single block of Nebbiolo, this wine was small batch fermented using wild yeasts before maturation in old French oak for 20 months, during which time it underwent a malolactic fermentation.
Our Nebbiolo shows thyme, wild strawberry and warm leather on the nose. The palate displays black cherry, toffee, fennel and Turkish delight. It is a very textural and generous wine, displaying great complexity. The pale ruby colour is testament to the additional time in bottle – delicious and ready to drink. Unique to the Yarra Valley, unique to Maddens Rise.
